The owner worked with indigenous craftsmen more than 8,000 miles away to create aesthetically-unique pieces, from the kitchen cabinets to the vanities, the flooring, the doors, the ceiling and floor panels, and the exquisite kitchen island. Points of distinction throughout the home include the use of 150-year-old iron ceiling panels as exterior siding, utilizing 200-year-old iron wood from a railroad bridge in Borneo as posts and beams for the home's sprawling deck, and the construction of a 30-foot interior bridge using reclaimed posts and flooring. The homeowner relied on the talents of 200 woodworkers, supplies from several Indonesian villages and the vision of award-winning architecture firm Centre Sky to design and build a home that is unlike any other.
